Aygül Pembecioğlu (27 Aralık, 2005 09:00 Salı)yurt dışındaki visual radio açıklamasına baktımda benim anladığım, radyoyu her zamanki gibi dinlediğimiz ama ekstra bilgiler için internete ihtyaç duyulduğunda Turkcell'i zengin edeceğimiz :)
3. How much will it cost to enjoy Visual Radio broadcasts?
Listening to the traditional radio broadcast is completely free - just as it is now. The radio broadcast will be received over an ordinary FM channel, so there are no costs.
However, the interactive visual channel is received through a wireless Internet connection, i.e. a digital packet data channel like GPRS. The listener will be billed by his operator according to existing tariffs for this data traffic. Thus, the operator will ultimately decide the costs. It is possible that an operator will decide to price Visual Radio data separately from other data traffic. Some operators will offer special monthly flat-fee billing models for the data traffic.
It has been estimated that a typical Visual Radio experience can be created by transmitting ~200 kilobytes of data per hour. This can, of course, vary greatly depending on the amount of material that the radio station decides to provide on its interactive visual channel. Especially graphics but also interactive elements and large amounts of text can significantly increase the data amounts being transferred and thus paid for by the audience.
